Another Ghost Bridge  - North Litchfield

This is the county road that splits off from 4 lane 66 just prior to crossing the railroad tracks as you head into Litchfield from the north. If you where to continue down the road you would see it become N. Washington Street in Litchfield. This little hill of dirt used to be a continuation of N. Sherman Street in Litchfield. I believe this is the original 1932 or so alignment of 66. If you could follow up the hill, across the tracks, {the bridge is gone} then down the hill and continue on in toward  town, you would pass right by the drive-in. Photo is mostly to the south.
This is the view from directly in front of the hill where N. Sherman Street would have met N. Washington Street, continuing on as Old 66 to the north. It runs up about a quarter mile to meet 4 lane 66.
This is a shot from the railroad bridge on 4 lane 66 showing the place where 2 lane 66 used to cross the tracks. This is facing east for the most part.
The hill from the 4 lane, south of the railroad bridge.
This picture needs to be bigger! Here joins new 66 {from the left, CR1300N {the bottom where the car mirror is}, Old 66 {N. Sherman Street} which had been paved where the barricade is and running towards the top of the picture over the hill to cross the tracks, and out of site to the right side of the picture, Old 66 {N. Sherman Street still} to run past the Drive-In. Confused? It will make more sense to see it...
