Small Old Route 66 Brick Section - South of Hamel

This little curve is on the east side of Route 4 {Old 66} just south of Hamel. You can see how the current route cut to the inside of this section. This was all brick with a concrete border. At some point it was blacktopped.
To the right of the pavement you can see a bare sliver of the original concrete heading over towards the trees. This was a sharp turn that crossed the current road then sharply turned again to go straight. A pretty wicked "S" curve affair.
This is another view of the curve pretty much looking south.
Brick under asphalt.
